Finders keepers

This Lampshade was being thrown away.....I saved it.

The Lamp was a purchase at a Thrift store. just a few bucks.

I spray painted it with a coat of my favorite brand of SPray Paint.  Rustoleum!!!

If you have a choice in the colors I suggest getting Rustoleum....it covers so much better than the others I have tried.

The color is Lagoon.

 I added some ruffles.
12 to be exact measuring a little less than 2 inches across and the length was 2 yards.

I used a ruffle foot....or what ever you call it on my bernina sewing machine.
 It went pretty fast.
Then I hot glued it in place.

Last month for a Party my Ward Relief Society ( my Church group) needed some decor so I made some banners and connected them with these flowers.
I had them hanging around so I added them to the lamp with pins.

Oh did I show you the table before and afters?
I will once I can get the before picture off my phone...its not connecting.
Probably because I never installed the software.  Maybe I will text it to my husband who then can send it since he has a smart phone and I dont.  :)

Hope you are getting ready to enjoy the summer.  I am ready to get a tan and enjoy lazy days at the pool.

thanks. xo

Project O.R.G.A.N.I.Z.E.

ENTER MY GiVeAwAy Here !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is what inspired the Organization.
 I bought this for $15.

I think that if your organization is cute and inspires you might just stay with it!

So thats what i did got something not so Cute and made it mine!

I have wanted one for a while and I am thrilled with the outcome!

Starting to prime the wood with KILZ white water based paint.

all primed and ready to paint!

I took it outside and spray painted it with dover white.

I didnt want new hardware I just wanted to darken it.

To keep the stain on I had to spray the tops a little with metallic spray paint.

I took a putty knife and roughed it up a bit.

I love how it looks!
its going in my office/treadmill room...i do want to change the red wall but for now its a great reminder of being brave 4 years ago when we built our home.
 BEFORE

AFTER

AFTER
You may be wondering why If everything else in the room is black why I painted it white?

Well I loved all my black furniture when I painted it years ago...and I still like black but I want to change it up slowly.

I am thinking of repainting my black desk to Grey.

hope this inspires you to do a little organizing!

Carseat Cover and a Peak into my life

Enter my GiVaWay Here!!!!!!!!!

I am sure most of you have seen these.
I made this one a little over a year ago.
I remember beacause I finished it the night before I was Induced to have my baby girl.
I am a little bit of a procrastinator some days.

YOu must know I have two sons ages 5 and 3.
My little girl was a complete surprise!

I was not expecting to be pregnant.  I had just given her brother his one year old birthday party when i found out the news.

You see...My sister has a family of 5 boys and so it is a miracle....well to me,
that I got a sweet baby girl.  So lets just say  I  WANTEd  PiNK!

Materials you need:

1 yard of non-directional fabric for the top layer
1 yard for the bottom Non- directional
4 yards pom-poms
sewing machine
matching thread
5 feet ribbon
scissors
seam ripper in case of accidents

The reason i say non-directional is because I used the width of the fabric, 45 inches which is the average width.   So make sure you buy enough yardage if you buy a fabric with a that you dont want sideways. Put the fronts facing eachother and sew together.  leaving a space 5 inches or so to turn right side out.  Then Iron it out. pulling out all the corners which i usually cut the triangle out of the corners. sew the seam shut.  Then i added the pom-poms.
Next i layed it on the carseat. to determine the area to put the ribbon to hold the cover off the babies face.  I would move it slightly off the center point.  Then i would sew the ribbon on and your done!

AVERY, One year old.  I made her little hat.

Just a few days old.  I had to share her with you!

9 month AVeRy

My mother crocheted the blanket on the rocker.
thought i would share with you my little girls room.

I had all un-matched furniture.

SO i painted it all to match the bedding.
I re-upholstered the chair and ottoman.
I also found different letters for her name, sprayed them the colors of her name and so on.

I will do a larger post in the future about her room.
