Requesting some Advice??

This is a lamp I bought in past few weeks.  I have been trying my hardest to scrape and/ or remove those pretty roses.

I looove the glass.

I have big plans for it. but I  have not found a product to remove it.

ANY suggestions?

I have tried....Lacquer thinner, putty knife, furniture stripper, goo gone.  I am beginning to think its permanent.

If the roses are etched into the glass is there a way to remove it?

This is a Clock I picked up at a local thrift store....

Did I ever tell you I love Clocks?

Well I do...most of mine dont work but this one does and I totallly scored on this one.  I will show you pictures of the finished product soon!

  1. You could have the lamp sandblasted, but that seems like over-kill. :)
What about taking glass etching cream and covering the whole lamp with it? Then the whole thing will be etched/frosted...?

    Good luck!

  4. I bought two ceramic lamps that had white strips on them so I got some sandpaper the little foam block kind and it came right off, but I don't think mine was etched. I Love the shape of the glass. Its beautiful

  5. Call me crazy but I like the old lady roses. Maybe it's because I'm getting old ;) Here's what I would do......Leave the flowers and paint the hardware white (with a little scraping for a shabby look) Then go way girly on the shade. Like a white shade with white fabric roses and small ruffles or something like that.
    Hope to see ya soon.

  6. I love vintage lamps. Your is lovely. Do you have a heat gun? Perhaps heating the paint to kind of melt it would work? I'm visiting from A La Carte and I'm your newest follower. I hope you stop by Cottage and Creek and follow back. Can't wait to see what you do with the lamp!
