I got this lamp at a thrift store for $8. It was marked 15 but The cheap skate I am went and asked if it could be marked down.
I thought it couldnt hurt to ask.... (bat the eyes...flirt a little... you know) HA!
just kidding.
He was nice and just lowered the price for me with out any of the other stuff! LOL
So I tried it ALL to get the roses off. My friend bought a lamp with roses on it and they just scraped off. go here to see hers.
I tried to scrape it off with sand paper, putty knife, all the dangerous solvents. Acetone.
YOu get the IDea.
I thought that i would tape it off where the roses were and spray paint only those sections.
like this. When I took this photo I had finished painting and staining the brass.
I guess I forgot to take a photo of the way it looked after I color blocked. (thats what I am going to call it)
It didnt look right. So I let it sit while I thought of what to do....
Then one day I was watching the Nate burkess show.
They did a Segment on MIrror SPray Paint. I Knew I had to try it.
I bought a can at a local craft store, Home Depot didnt carry it.
Then I sprayed the entire glass bulb. I love the result.
I wasnt sure about what to use as a shade. So I used the top half of the one it came with and cut the bottom half wire in half. I also shortened it. I wanted to see all the lamp had to offer. Then I taped and glued it so the sphere wasnt so big. I also added some burlap and mini white pom-poms.
I think It will have a permanant spot in my bedroom. But I dont have the furniture its permanantly goin to sit on done yet. My Mother in law bought me a dresser that I cannot say enough about. It so Cute:) I will be working on it soon. Pictures to come
Happy Tuesday!!
